Learn how to make Radish and Taro (蘿蔔糕/芋頭糕)! Radish and Taro Cakes are classic savory dishes found in breakfast spots and night markets amongst many others.

Join TAP-NY in learning how to make Radish and Taro Cake (蘿蔔糕/芋頭糕)! Radish/taro cake in Taiwan is traditionally made with shredded daikon radish (or taro) mixed with rice flour, dried shrimp, mushrooms, and other savory seasonings. It is steamed into a soft cake, then pan-fried for a crisp and golden finish.
Our favorite Taiwanese “A-ma” will be leading this class, so come out for a fun morning of a cooking demo, meeting new people, and most importantly, eating!
Please note: the cooking workshop is group-effort and individual stations will not be provided. The amount of hands-on cooking will vary depending on the dish.
This cooking workshop will be held in Astoria (~30min from midtown). Please be aware that the cooking portion may take at least 2 hours so if you leave early, you may be unable to eat the final product.
